Columbus Sports Commission

Graphic Design | Illustration

The NCAA Women’s Final Four was held in Columbus, Ohio in 2018. I was tapped by the Columbus Sports Commission to design graphics for events that week, using brand standards provided by the NCAA. I designed dozens digital and print materials, including Columbus Tourism Map, Videoboard Templates, Snapchat Filters, Program, Podium Wraps, Signage, Banners, Feather Flags, Ads, Credential Lanyards, Reports, Covers, Posters, Flyers, Operations Binder, and more.

American Solar & Roofing

Brand Strategy | Logo Design | Graphic Design

After going through brand strategy exercises with American Solar & Roofing, we established that their persona would be that of the Rebel, the Revolutionary, the Outlaw. After all, what could be more revolutionary than the story of America? Solar energy brings “power to the people,” literally.

I recognized the similarities between American Solar and the Greek myth of Prometheus. Prometheus is a Titan, a god of fire, and a trickster who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity. This story was a great fit for American Solar & Roofing. My team and I designed their logo to incorporate a shield, symbolizing protection and security. The large version of the logo features the hand of Prometheus, bringing the rays of the sun to man, and added the classic “revolutionary” trope of expanding sun rays.

The brand strategy exercises also yielded their tagline, The Power of Choice, which encompasses the literal power of solar energy, as well as the revolutionary empowerment of solar energy to provide an alternative to the standard energy grid.

San Francisco Giants Spring Training Program

Graphic Design

I’ve performed Art Direction and Design for the Giants Spring Training Program for many years on behalf of the Scottsdale Charros, who manage Spring Training Baseball at Scottsdale Stadium.

The 2015 Program celebrated three World Series Championship titles for the Giants in 2010, 2012, 2014. To commemorate this achievement, and along with the assistance of the San Francisco Giants, The Scottsdale Charros, and Metal Magic, we designed and created a multilevel embossing die and three foil-stamping dies for the cover.

Serpent Poster

Graphic Design

This poster was designed for a live concert featuring Brian Chartrand and Brian DeMarco, two Phoenix-based singer songwriters. The goal with this project was to tie together the two Brians and catch someone’s eye for just a moment to remember the date. The first slide is the thumbnail sketch I knocked out to see if the clients like the concept. The second slide is an outline drawing of the serpent I drew to scan and digitize. And the last slide is the finished poster, digitally colorized and typeset.
